Airbnb appeal: It costs just 40p to change a life

Centrepoint, a homelessness charity working with young people between the ages of 16 and 25 in the UK, recently reported that 25,000 young people will have nowhere to call home this Christmas. The holidays are a time to be with loved ones, somewhere warm, safe and secure, so when we heard this news, we knew we had to do something to help.

Centrepoint works with thousands of vulnerable people every year and are hoping to provide as many rooms for young people as possible this Christmas. It costs just 40p a night to house someone in the UK, so, from today until the end of December, we are pledging 40p for each booking made on listings in London on the Airbnb platform. We expect our donation from these bookings to reach around £20,000.

In addition, we want to give our community the chance to also play a part in supporting young people this Christmas, so we’re also asking you, our community of hosts and guests, to donate whatever you can afford; whatever you donate from now until the end of January, we will match, up to £10,000.

We can all make a substantial difference to the lives of young people across the country. So please join us by donating to Centrepoint’s Christmas campaign today.
