Hosts open homes to Red Cross relief workers following Grenfell Tower tragedy

We are heartbroken by the Grenfell Tower fire and our thoughts are with everyone affected by this awful tragedy.

Since last week, Airbnb has been working closely with local agencies managing the response, including the British Red Cross, to understand how the Airbnb community can best help those in need.

The British Red Cross has identified an urgent accommodation need for volunteers from across the UK who are supporting relief efforts in London.

Red Cross emergency teams have been providing practical and emotional support since Wednesday morning after the fire broke out. They are now helping to coordinate the response at the community assistance centre and are helping support those affected.

To help, Airbnb is looking for London hosts who are willing to open their homes for free to Red Cross staff and volunteers, who are working around the clock to support those affected by the fire.

How you can help

If you are willing and able to help – for anything from a few nights to a few weeks – we ask that you follow this link to offer your home for £0.

Relief workers will be guided through the booking process by Airbnb and the Red Cross – so you can be sure that your help is going to someone who needs it – and Airbnb will waive all fees associated with these bookings. As a host, you are also fully protected by our Trust and Safety programs, just as during any regular booking.

We also understand many of you may have bookings or may be unable to open your listing for £0. If you would like to donate directly to the British Red Cross to support all of their efforts, you can do so directly by visiting the Airbnb funding page on the British Red Cross website.
